Happy 2021! Well, do we have something special for you! First things first, Chloe takes us on a tour of the new features of the park down the road from her. Not too long ago a huge redwood tree was taken down nearby and they used it to renovate the park. Take a look!
…and I know what you really care about is the bunnies! They are hard to photo as they don’t prefer to sit still. Here is Theo, a fluffy dwarf bunny.
Theo is very cute, but won’t let anyone hold him yet. Believe it or not, but he’s litter trained!
Here we have “Untitled Bunny”. He’s headed to Chloe’s school to be a class pet for her grade. The kids will choose his name. He’ll be joining a turtle named “Dudley”. He’s very calm and enjoys being pet.
Here’s Chloe showing off some of her current artwork.
That’s not a crab, that’s a Crab Lobster!
Here’s a knitted Crab Lobster Chloe made.
Last but not least, here the feared Chicken Dragon!
Hey, not only was it 01/01/2021, it’s also daddio’s birthday! Chloe, Lisa and I jumped in el coche and rode out to the beach at Lincoln City. Here we go!
On our way!
We are here! The tide was quite high that day.

Remember kids, don’t turn your back on the ocean. No really. It’s a real safety issue. Always keep an eye out.
PREHISTORIC is a neato tourist stop when in Lincoln City, OR. (Click here for more). Here’s Chloe posing by the Christmas T-Rex, but don’t let the cheese fool you. This place is stocked with quality rocks and fossils and is well worth the stop when in town.
Ok, so maybe some of the creatures who live here are a wee bit unusual.
“Hey buddy, whadda YOU lookin’ at?”
We stopped at the local socially-distanced arcade and hit the photo booth!
What you missed on 12/31 was Joyce laying out one heck of a fondue presentation, that even included setting the table on fire! (by accident, it was a surprise)
Mugs, custom Chloe-painted coffee mugs. Two of you out there were lucky enough to one of these very limited series containers o’ fun. Here’s a little bit about them.
Note: Here’s the lego Ender Dragon munching a squishy hamburger.
The story behind the story.
Here’s a closeup of the jingle bells and glaciers.
How does one Trick or Treat in the era of COVID? We were worried that this year was going to be a bust, but Forest Grove pulled it off with style!
press play below for some spooky music (in Spanish)
Traditionally, the merchants of downtown Forest Grove open their doors to little ghouls and goblins but this year that’s a little problematic. So they pulled together and came up with a solution. They closed down main street, set out a one-way path lined with stations and metered parties of kids through. Nicely done, Forest Grove! Take a peek of Chloe and River exploring.
… then a quick bike ride around to scout the neighborhood. Here’s an example of how people have prepped for trick or treaters in the era of COVID 19. If you look close, you can see they’ve made treat bags, and clipped them to stakes in the front yard. Easy for the socially-distanced treating!
When sun set, we set out.
Sometimes a Dragon doesn’t fit so well in the doorway.
And presenting… the scariest haunt of the night!
Chloe’s dragon costume really brought a lot of cheer to people that night. It was really something to watch some of the older members of our community light up when she came to the door. I’m glad we went.
In case you were wondering, this is what a deflated dragon looks like:

Chloe is so excited for Halloween, she could probably tell you the number of hours until it’s here. Here she is building our gingerbread haunted house.
Then it was time to carve pumpkins.
…and dad has roasted up a heck of a lot of pumpkins seeds…
Chloe took a break from carving to roll in the grass in the park.
Meanwhile, Chloe had the homework assignment to paint a halloween piece of art, so she made this terrifying monster!
