Here’s Chloe helping me deal with a coolant issue with the Subaru. A couple days later I’m helping her pile into the back and she points to the broken passenger cupholders in the back (because who cares about your back seat passenger cupholders when your only back-seat passenger is 5 yrs old) and says, “Daddy, you need to fix this.” And I say, “Yes, another thing to fix.” and she comes back with, “Daddy! Everything you have is broken!” … Well, not exactly true, but it is very true that most of the objects in my life that I rely on have a to-do list of um, things to modify for improved function…

Pretzels! We made these and Chloe did me the honor of giving me a hug and said, “You’re the best Dad in the world!”

Ok – the weather that night was very PORTLAND with incredible downpours that left cars stranded and widows lamenting for the weather conditions in a Mad Max movie… as a result we didn’t really get any outdoor shots worth sharing, but the munchkins sure had fun!

Lots of fun, of course!

Train ride out and boat ride back at Lakeview Farms.

First Chloe wanted to make “lunch”.  It’s more of an art presentation than a meal.  Raw brussel sprouts, one dill pickle, cranberries, caraway seeds and hot sauce.  “yum yum!”

Chloe very carefully saved just about every pumpkin seed.  Hope she doesn’t mind that I toasted most of them last night.  She seemed to have some kind of pumpkin seed plan in mind.

Finally tried out one of the pumpkin carving tool sets this year after a lifetime of using kitchen knives.  Not going back to the old way.  Easier to carve with them, and better results.
